The Minilux was first made available in 1995 with production continuing into 2006. During this time, it was Leica’s premier point-and-shoot 35mm film camera. With previous Leica branded point-and-shoots being designed by Japanese firms such as Minolta, the Minilux was a thoroughly German affair. Chief credits went to Manfred Meinzer and Klaus-Dieter Schaefer.
