The Canon F-1 represents Canon's first truly successful professional 35mm SLR system, manufactured from 1971 to 1981. Introduced alongside the Canon FD mount, it maintained compatibility with earlier FL and R-series lenses. Positioned as a direct competitor to Nikon's professional offerings, the F-1 distinguished itself through exceptional modularity, supporting an extensive range of accessories and interchangeable components to suit diverse photographic applications. The 1972 Highspeed variant featured groundbreaking technology with its fixed pellicle mirror and motor drive capability of nine frames per second—unprecedented at that time. This particular kit includes the coveted FD 50mm f/1.4 lens, renowned for its exceptional optical performance.
