The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 is a compact bridge-style digital camera combining a long zoom range with Leica optics and straightforward controls. Its 12x optical zoom lens provides a very versatile focal range, making the camera suitable for everyday photography, portraits, travel, landscapes and distant subjects without the need to change lenses.
The camera is fitted with a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 6–72mm f/2.8–3.3 lens, equivalent to approximately 36–432mm on a 35mm camera. The relatively bright maximum aperture throughout the zoom range is particularly useful when shooting at longer focal lengths, while Panasonic’s MEGA O.I.S. system helps reduce blur caused by camera shake.
